Calling all community leaders to help make a difference. In 2019, there were an estimated 51.5 million adults aged 18 or older in the U.S with a mental illness. This number represented 20.6% of all U.S. adults. The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic will affect a person well beyond the initial crisis. Employers have a unique ability and responsibility to address the mental health and wellbeing of their workers, as do parents with their children. This Mental Health webinar, presented by Deborah Rocha, founder of Straightening Reins, will speak to a variety of resources that are accessible for businesses and families, and how a person can address stress and mental health.

With a Masters in Special Education and 33 + plus years in full time teaching for the Saugus Union School District, Deborah Rocha, founder of SRD Straightening Reins, has created a great team, each with their specialties, to serve both the youth on the ranch and in the community.   Recently retired, Deborah can now spend full time to further develop programs that will enhance the mission of SRD.

Following the mission of SRD, Deborah has committed her board to furthering the legacy of the Samantha Rocha-Dyer Straightening Reins Foundation to provide every child a safe place to find the tools for their own mental well-being.

Straightening Reins is a 501(c)(3) public nonprofit established in 2011 specializing in equine-assisted and interactive therapies designed to improve adolescent and teen mental health and well-being. SRD provides behavioral, educational, and community outreach services to youth and their families in Los Angeles County.
