About St. Francis Dam National Memorial Foundation, Inc.

The St. Francis Dam National Memorial Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit organization, with the goal of raising funds to support the St. Francis Dam Disaster National Memorial and Monument, including the construction of a visitor's center and memorial wall with the names of all the victims. They do so in order to honor the memory of the hundreds of victims of the second greatest loss of life in one event in California history. The St. Francis Dam Disaster National Memorial and National Monument was created on March 12, 2019 by an act of Congress and signed into law by the President of the United States.

Mission Statement
The mission of the St. Francis Dam National Memorial Foundation is to provide funding for the construction, maintenance, security, and administration of a visitor's center and museum, along with a memorial wall for the flood victims and any additional supporting infrastructure, within the St. Francis Dam Disaster National Memorial and National Monument.


Vision Statement
The St. Francis Dam National Memorial Foundation's vision is to create a National Memorial at the site of the remnants of the St. Francis Dam in San Francisquito Canyon in Santa Clarita, California which properly honors the memories of the over 400 victims of the dam collapse on March 12, 1928, and provides a great educational experience about the second greatest disaster in California history to visitors from all over the world.
