About College of the Canyons

This year marks the 50^th Anniversary of College of the Canyons serving the needs of the business community.  Over the years, our partnership with businesses and industry in Santa Clarita has led to some amazing results:

• Generated more than $43.6 million in capital for local companies
• Increased sales for local businesses by more than $125 million
• Served 12,038 companies, and trained more than 61,000 employees
• Created over 3,200 new jobs
• In 2019, Employment Training Institute received a record-setting $750,000 in funding by the Employment Training Panel (ETP) to provide customized training and instruction to companies in the Santa Clarita Valley.
• The Strong Workforce Apprenticeship Group (SWAG) received more than $500,000 in grant funding to provide work-based learning opportunities for students in Cyber Security, Advanced Manufacturing and Allied Health;
• Launched the Google IT Pre-apprenticeship Program which received national recognition for its work with Veterans and underserved populations;
• Led the implementation of the Statewide GIG Economy Program which provides instruction for to over 500 students seeking to become independent contractors;
• Placed more than 250 students with 73 manufacturing companies in Santa Clarita who work as entry-level CNC machinists;
• Successfully launched an advanced training program to individuals with high-functioning Autism.  This new and innovative program has a graduation rate of 90% and a job placement rate of 100%.
