Mississippi Georgia Fried is a soul food restaurant in Santa Clarita, California. The secret to their success is simple: the recipes were handed down from their grandmother, Mae Lee, who grew up in Mississippi. Mae Lee had inherited the recipes from her mother, who had inherited them from her mother, and so on, from the 1930s. One day, Michael Goode and his wife decided to take a chance and start their restaurant. We wanted to create a place that celebrated our love of soul food and honored the traditions of our families. We decided to name the restaurant Mississippi Georgia Fried, after the states where our families had originated.
