While it’s only the end of May, it’s time for businesses in the Santa Clarita Valley to start thinking about the largest business exposition in this valley, the Annual Home and Business Expo sponsored by the SCV Chamber.

This year’s Expo, to be held on October 9-10-11, 2009, will be bringing the business and consumer communities several changes. For many years, the Chamber’s Expo was a Friday evening plus two full days to follow. The evening featured Taste of Expo, which served as a business to business event, and the Saturday and Sunday Expo was designed to be a business to consumer event.  The 2009 version of Expo will once again feature Taste of Expo Friday evening and include a full Saturday event, however, there will be a very limited Sunday schedule.

That’s not all that will be different with the 2009 Home and Business Expo - the Expo will have a new home, as this year’s event will be held at the City of Santa Clarita’s Activity Center in the Center Point area.  The center will allow for an indoor Expo - that’s right, no tent, no wind, no rain - just a wonderful climate controlled environment for our booth participants and our consumer guests. The activities center has recently opened a new parking area that will allow for more than adequate parking for participants and Expo guests.

Finally, the Chamber’s Board of Directors and the Expo Committee have made the decision to lower the cost of participation for the event.  Cost for booth space will be significantly less in 2009 than in prior years.  Leadership of the Chamber is sending a message to the 1,400 members of the Chamber that says one thing: “We understand that times are hard, and we want to make it possible for our members to reach their existing customers and new customers in a very cost effective way.”
