Joining a committee is the best way to get involved with the Chamber and the Santa Clarita business community. You will meet other Chamber members and have the ability to interact and network with them. It's the first step to building more business for your business. Ambassador Committee
The Ambassador Committee of the Chamber plays an active role in welcoming new members to the Chamber and they assist in the retention of existing members. The committee personally delivers new member packets and membership plaques to the nearly 400 new members of the Chamber each year. The Ambassador Committee provides an excellent opportunity to meet new business owners in the Santa Clarita Valley. It meets the fourth Thursday of each month at 8:00 a.m. in the offices of the Chamber.
Installation Banquet Committee
The Installation Banquet Committee begins meeting several months before the annual banquet, which is held the fourth Friday of January. This committee plans the banquet around a theme that is representative of the retiring Chairman of the Board. The committee is also responsible for creating and distributing an application for three significant awards that are presented at the evening banquet - the small, medium and large business of the year awards. Several other awards are presented at this annual affair as
well. The new Board of Directors for the organization are sworn in at the evening event, and the retiring Chairman of the Board is recognized for their work during the previous year.
Golf Tournament Committee
This committee plans the annual Chamber golf outing. The committee begins the planning process several months before this event, which is normally held in the spring of the year. The committee solicits sponsors and players for the golf event. The Classic is a significant fundraiser for the Chamber.
SCV Community Expo/Taste Of Committee
The annual Home & Business Expo is designed to offer Chamber members a unique opportunity to showcase their businesses in a professional setting. The Expo includes more than 140 vendors, representing businesses involved in the financial, home improvement, medical, communication, human resources, education and entertainment industries, as well as a variety of other services, for business and consumer alike. Over 5,000 attendees traffic the tent during this weekend event. The Taste of Expo is an exciting addition
that showcases local restaurants while allowing networking time for attendees with other local business professionals.
Government Affairs Committee
The Government Affairs Committee reviews legislative bills and issues brought before them from local, county, state and federal sources. The committee will review legislation and craft policy positions for Executive Committee and Board of Director's support or opposition. The committee will also review and consider policy position statements on local bond issues. Candidates running for public office on the local level will present to this committee for possible Chamber of Commerce endorsement. The committee meets
the second Tuesday of the month at 11a.m. in the offices of the Chamber.
Transportation Committee
At each meeting, key transportation officials report and update the members on a variety of transportation projects. Additionally, officials from the California Highway Patrol and LA County Sheriff’s Department provide up-to-date traffic and construction impact reports. The committee meets the first Tuesday of the month at 10:30a.m. In the offices of the Chamber.
Health and Wellness Fair Committee
The Health and Wellness Fair Committee's goal is to plan and execute the Chambers annual Health and Wellness fair.
