Message from Chairman

Welcome to the Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce!

As we enter into a new year, I am honored and humbled to serve as Board Chairman of the Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce.  For almost a century our chamber has supported local business and,  it is the board of directors objective to ensure that all new and existing members find the unmatched business support, camaraderie, and educational opportunities that we have found in such abundance as a result of membership.

This year, the Chamber will be expanding and enriching our existing programs and opportunities. We will also be launching brand new events and programs concentrating on five core areas: education and learning, our leadership program, quality communication, governmental advocacy and job creation.

Education and Learning

Continuing education and learning will be a focal point this year through an expansion of our Lunch and Learn Program and the addition of new training classes. Topics covered will include an emphasis on revisiting tried and true business practices, effective business planning and strategizing, maximizing marketing tactics, productive team development and successful hiring.

Leadership Program

Our leadership program helps both new and existing members become stronger business leaders individually and in the business community at large.  The objectives of our Leadership Program this year include highlighting the benefits of mentorship and a focus on strategic business planning and expansion.

Quality Communication

The Chamber will strive for excellence in quality communication with all members.  We will work diligently to ensure that every member is aware of the many opportunities afforded by Chamber membership.  With the launch of Chamber Focus magazine and our continuing SCV Chamber Spotlight opportunities, we are excited to help you successfully promote your business.

Governmental Advocacy

As our economy rebounds, we will renew our efforts to forge and maintain relationships with elected officials who are instrumental in improving our regional economic growth.  As such, we will prioritize advocacy on the local, state and federal level in support of policies and positions that will improve our business climate.

Job Creation

It is our duty to help our unemployed residents find work this year.  Through a variety of new methods, including our first ever Veteran’s Job Fair we will focus on helping Chamber members find eager, able and enthusiastic workers in 2013.

I look forward to serving the Chamber and am eager to hear your ideas on how we can continue to be of maximum service to the Santa Clarita Valley business community this year.

 With very best regards,

Fred Arnold
