Welcome to the Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce!
As we begin a new year as a business community, we do so with renewed enthusiasm, aware that while the current economy still poses challenges, it also offers tremendous opportunities for prosperity and growth. I feel very fortunate to be at the Chamber’s helm, in service to all of you, at such a propitious time.
No other region compares to the Santa Clarita Valley. Our commitment to our neighbors, clients, and one another as business professionals is unrivaled, and it is this unity and shared dedication to success that will spur us onward to achieve our goals.
In 2012, the Chamber will continue to lead the business community in the Santa Clarita Valley with a sharp focus on five vital areas: governmental advocacy, partnerships, business retention, shopping local, and good communication.
Governmental Advocacy
Now more than ever, we need to ensure strong relationships with our elected officials who have played a vital role in our region’s economic growth. The Chamber will continue to actively advocate for local, state, and federal officials to support policy positions that will help Santa Clarita maintain a healthy economic climate.
Partnerships
As Bill Gates has said of Microsoft, “Our success has really been based on partnerships from the very beginning.” The same is true for Santa Clarita’s economy. It is important then that Chamber members continue to foster strategic, mutually beneficial alliances. In addition, on the Chamber’s behalf, I will continue to reach out to other communities so that together we can learn and grow for the benefit of our respective regions and California as a whole.
Business Retention
Local businesses must stay in Santa Clarita so that our economy continues to thrive. The Chamber will work closely with the City of Santa Clarita and other economic development entities that offer programs to address business retention and expansion.
Good Communication
Throughout 2012, the Chamber will focus on ensuring that our members are aware of the many different opportunities available to them. We will also enhance our efforts to connect you more closely with the Chamber and your peers.
I feel very privileged to serve Santa Clarita Valley businesses in my new role as Board Chairman. I have great optimism for the success each of us will enjoy and the many exciting milestones we will realize together as a Chamber and a region.
With very best wishes,
